Iron oxides are CATHAY INDUSTRIES' core business. As the second largest iron oxide manufacturer in the world, CATHAY INDUSTRIES provides a wide range of iron oxide pigments from economical grades for construction applications, to high-quality CATHAYCOATTM for top coating, and the highest-purity CATHAYPURETM for cosmetics.

Chrome Oxide Green pigments from CATHAY INDUSTRIES are a range of high-quality inorganic green pigments. They are produced to strict quality standard and offer reliable performance, including:

- outstanding light-fastness
- high opacity
- excellent chemical resistance
- exterior durability

From the micronized and standard grades to the construction grades, CATHAY INDUSTRIES provides a full range of Chrome Oxide Green pigments for different industries with diverse requirements.

Chrome Oxide Green pigments must not be confused with the potentially toxic “Chrome Green,” which is a blend of chrome yellow and iron blue that CATHAY INDUSTRIES does not produce.

Heat stable ferrites: CATHAY INDUSTRIES produces two mixed metal oxide types, Manganese Ferrite and Zinc Ferrite. Both are made with high-temperature calcination and are heat stable for use in applications with temperature changes. These products are offered under the name of CATHAYTHERMTM.

Umbers: CATHAY through its Division Hoover Color offers raw and burnt umber and sienna pigments of uncompromising quality. These pigments have semi-transparent properties making them ideal for use in wood and furniture stains.

Through its Division Hoover Color the CATHAY Group offers transparent iron oxides obtained through a unique process, recovered from abandoned mine drainage through a waste elimination process that results in clean water. They can color a wide range of products including paints and coatings, plastics, paper, mulch and more. Contrary to synthetic transparent iron oxides, these EnvironOxide products show an outstanding dispersibility which reduces the dispersing process to the use of a high speed disperser.

CATHAYREDTM: Through its high-grade expertise in the manufacturing of red iron oxide pigments, CATHAY offers a broad range of high chroma red pigments. The range of shades goes from very yellowish to bluish. It is reported that these pigments may partially replace organic pigments in certain formulations.

CATHAYTHERMTM: For applications that require an increase heat stability, CATHAY has developed a range of iron oxides with increased temperature resistance. This product range comprises yellows, reds and blacks. Typical applications are powder coating, coil coating or polyolefin masterbatches.
